Walleyes spawning is a sure sign of spring! If you want to see a walleye spawn-take operation or want to see one again, you are in luck. Walker Area Fisheries staff plan to begin their walleye spawn-take operations on the Woman Lake Chain on the Boy River on April 30, which is two weeks later than usual, and ends when the quota has been met. Visitors are welcome! Although there is ice on Leech Lake area lakes right now, the Boy River is open.
