Although there are trails for non-motorized use, such as cross-country skiing, hiking, and biking, there are also miles and miles of trails in Cass County MN available for motorized use. On some of the motorized trails, travelers will need an ATV (All-Terrain Vehicle) because autos are not allowed. However, the Woodtick Trail is one of the motorized trails that allows trucks and cars! Travelers do not have to use an ATV to travel on the Woodtick Trail. Just enjoy the scenery from your auto as you travel through this part of the Chippewa National Forest.

Not everyone who is looking for property for sale in the Leech Lake area is interested in fishing. The trail systems we have in the Leech Lake area give people opportunities to be active outdoors – riding, hiking, biking, snowshoeing, and cross-country skiing.

Woodtick Trail Auto Tour

Check out the Woodtick Trail Auto Tour for 15 points of interest of things to see or do on the Trail. As an example, #10 is information about Stocking Lake. Although there isn’t a boat access, it would be fun to portage a canoe or kayak to be able to try to catch some giant sunfish. Of course, if portaging isn’t an option, #11 is information about the Moccasin Lake access. There is also a campsite at this location.

If you like to hike or backpack, #14 is access to North Country National Scenic Trail. We are fortunate to have part of this 4,600-mile national trail go through our area.

Award-winning Woodtick Wheelers Club

There are many active volunteers and volunteer opportunities in the Walker, Hackensack, Longville, MN area. The Woodtick Wheelers are an award-winning ATV and OHM (Off-Highway Motorcycle) club. The Woodtick Wheelers have an informative website! They have a number of club rides annually, certify youth riders who go through the ATV Safety Class, help keep the trails open, assist other clubs, and assist the Sheriff’s Department when asked.
